Prithvi Shaw: Team India has been announced for the upcoming T20 and ODI series against New Zealand. After a long time Prithvi Shaw got a chance in the T20 team.
Prithvi Shaw Return in Team India: The Board of Control for Cricket in India has announced the squad of Team India for the upcoming T20 and ODI series against New Zealand late on Friday night. Star young batsman Prithvi Shaw has returned to Team India after a long time in the T20 series against New Zealand. Shaw got the ticket to Team India after his record breaking innings of 379 runs in Ranji Trophy.
Prithvi returned to the team after 26 months
Prithvi Shaw has returned to Team India after a long gap of 26 months. Prithvi Shaw performed consistently well in domestic cricket during this period but he was not getting a place in Team India. However, in the Ranji Trophy, Shaw played a record-breaking inning of 379 runs against Assam and forced the selectors to give him a place in Team India. Prior to the Ranji Trophy, Prithvi Shaw also scored the most runs in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
Apart from Prithvi Shaw, 29-year-old wicket-keeper batsman Jitesh Sharma will be the reserve wicket-keeper of Team India in the T20 series against New Zealand. Earlier, he also got a chance in the T20 series against Sri Lanka after Sanju Samson was injured, although Jitesh is yet to make his debut for Team India. In such a situation, speculations are being made that Jitesh can make his international debut against New Zealand.
