Hiraben has been admitted to UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Centre. The hospital said her condition is stable.

Security around the hospital has been beefed up amid reports that PM Modi will be reaching there to meet his ailing mother

Hiraben turned 100th in June. PM Modi met her in June when he was on a visit of Gujarat.

Details about the reason of her hospitalisation are not yet known.

"Maa…this isn't a mere word but it captures a range of emotions. Today, 18th June is the day my Mother Heeraba enters her 100th year. On this special day, I have penned a few thoughts expressing joy and gratitude," Modi tweeted after meeting her in June.

In the blogpost, Modi called her a "symbol of resilience," someone who finds happiness in others' joys.
